Meet the Founders

Jason Gant and Mark Comer were born and raised in Maryland, where they were heavily involved in sports from a young age. Whether playing, watching, or encouraging others to participate, they both found tremendous value in the physical, mental and social benefits of recreation. Jason and Mark founded Recreation Readiness in 2018 with the goal of providing unique learning opportunities for college students to positively impact our global military communities. Through Recreation Readiness, they unite several passions, including sports, student development, officiating and travel.

Jason and Mark are seasoned sports officials, instructors and trainers. Since 2011, they have taught several flag and tackle football officiating clinics for the US Army – IMCOM Europe. Both have officiated NCAA Division I football, as well as basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball and lacrosse. Through Recreation Readiness, they aspire to give back, teach, and support officials at all levels.
