Europe Internship

Internship Job Description
Recreation Readiness interns collaborate with U.S. Army MWR Child & Youth Services (CYS) sports and fitness staff to facilitate weekly sports and recreation camps for the children of eligible military and civilian families. Interns develop, organize, and execute sport-specific curriculum for multi-day camp sessions. Interns contribute to the well-being of the children and youth by offering skills and drills designed to enhance each participant’s physical, mental, and educational development. Interns must possess or obtain skills necessary to coach participants in a variety of activities including, but not limited to: soccer, basketball, flag football, volleyball, fitness, dodge ball, and archery. All CYS camps must be delivered to meet each Army garrison’s mission, philosophy and goals.

Through this opportunity, Recreation Readiness interns participate in unique experiences and gain transferable skills to assist in their student, professional, and personal development as recreation and education administrators. All interns will earn a coaching certification through the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS). Interns will also be trained on appropriate protocol and standards related to succeeding in a military environment.
